Amos Nachoum is one of the greatest explorers and underwater photographers of all times. He swam with crocodiles and killer whales, with anacondas and with great white sharks but one major predator has always eluded him, the Polar bear. He tried before and barely escaped, but now, after four decades in the wilderness, Amos is determined to give it one last shot. Winner of 6 Audience awards, including the San Francisco JFF, Boston JFF, Syracuse International FF
For more than 40 years we’ve had the great privilege of leading explorers and photographers to every corner of the world to find the most exciting and impressive big animals on the planet.
Our guides are among the best in the world, our first concern is safety, and we’re proud of the 100% safety record that we’ve earned over 40 years of expeditions.
To be honest, we can never guarantee 100% that the animals will show up like we want them to, but each expedition is carefully scouted and timed to give the best chance for peak animal presence.
Amos Nachoum is a wildlife photographer and explorer. He has shot just about everything there is to shoot, war, journalism, fashion, racing of cars and Motorcycles…but what he loves most is wildlife photography. Especially if it's in the water. And he has become world-famous at it .
TEDx San Francisco
Amos has lead great expeditions for individual adventurers and institutions like Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Discovery Channel, Armani, Disney, and Colombia Pictures. For National Geographic, he was team leader for separate photo expeditions to document the Red Sea, Great White Sharks, and Killer Whales.
His photos and essays have appeared in hundreds of publications around the globe, including National Geographic, Time, Life, The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Le Figaro, Terra Sauvage, Airone, Mondo Somerso, Der Spiegel, Unterwasser, and many more. His work has also been included in the books The Living Ocean, The World of Nature, and Oceans. He has appeared on National Geographic Explorer, Today, and Good Morning America and featured in People, Esquire, and Money magazines. Amos’s photography has won Nikon, Communication Arts, and BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards.
Above all else, Amos loves people as much as wildlife. His concern for both inspired him to co-found Israel’s Marine National Park on the Red Sea.
Though his interest in conservation began with sharks, he looks to bring attention to the most fragile regions of the underwater realm with preservation of the environment foremost in his mind. His favorite way to raise awareness and stimulate passion for the ocean is to help guests experience it first-hand. For those unable to join him on his adventures, he brings the oceans to the world through his photography and public speaking engagements.
In 2019 Amos was honored to be selected as 2019 SeaKeeper of the year!
His work has also been included in the books The Living Ocean, The World of Nature, and Oceans. He has been profiled in television appearances on National Geographic Explorer, Today, and Good Morning America, as well as featured in People, Esquire, and Money magazines.
In his lecture, Amos talks about the thought process and preparations a photographer needs to make before each assignment and everyday for their work. Using his imagery as examples, he will discuss thinking about creating images that have not been seen before, and what it takes to successfully execute them. He will draw on his years of experience working for such clients as Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Discovery Channel, Armani, Disney, and Colombia Pictures.
